Welcome to Sheffield Dog Walking Group - The first walk of the new year will Sunday February the 12th
The first walk of the new year will Sunday February the 12th 
Please note however that my second Grandson is due to Feb 11th! So if he comes on time I may have to hand over walk leadership to someone else.

Walk Details

Meeting point : the Sportsman Pub, Lodge Moor
Time: meet at 10.15 to start walking at 10.30am
Walk: Wyming Brook
Distance: Around 4.5 Miles I think!
Time: 2 hours approx
Refreshments: the Sportsman do a great carvery or hot roast meat cobs and tattties :)
Grade: medium with some steep and possibly slippy climbs up Wyming brook and the rocks coming back uphill.

please note I've invited the fellow walkers from City Socialiing to join this walk too.

Heavy rain, sleet or snow will cancel the event

December Christmas walk 
hi all

just planning ahead for the December Christmas walk.

Date : Sunday 18th December
Time: 10.30 meet
Where: Baslow Car Park on the Goose Green.
Walk: Chatsworth park taking in the Hunting tower and lakes and stopping in the courtyard for hot chocolate and mince pies and brass band carols. Howling hounds welcome to sing along :-)
Distance: about 5 - 6 miles
Grade: Medium - but some steep hills leading up to the Hunting Tower
NB: Sheep and Pheasants!

those who wish to can stop on after for roast dinner Carvery in the Devonshire arms.

Also I've invited some new possible members from the CitySocialsing.com group, of which I'm a member... so we might have quite a turnout!

Dog fancy dress or some bells and tinsel optional

September walk reminder 
 Hi all
 
the next walk is;
 
Date:Sunday September 18th
 Time: 10.30am
Meet: The Grouse Inn, near Froggat
Walk: White Edge and Froggat Edge
Distance: 6 miles
Duration: 3 hours
Grade: Medium - some steep ascents and descents
SHEEP!!!!  Long lines please or very well trained dogs!
 Heave rain will cancel the walk
 
I've been tidying up the database. If you no longer wish to be part of the group or have not joined us yet on a walk please let me know so I can delete you from the contacts.
Membership fees are due for most who joined early last year or the year before
£12 for 1 dog,  £20 for 2.

Remaining walks in 2011 
Hi all
 
I hope you're enjoying this lovely weather
 
I've finally managed to sit down with the help of Alyson and plan ahead for the next 5 walks up till Xmas!
The dates and locations are as follows but you will be sent futher details via email prior to each walk.  Please note, if its rains heavily (or Snow!) the walk will be cancelled.
 
Sunday 14th August - 10.30am - Bradfield Dale. Approximately 6 miles. 3 hours
 
Sunday 18th September - 10.30am - White Edge, Froggatt and Curbar Edges. Meet at the Grouse Inn. Approximately 5 miles.  NB: there will be sheep on the moors.
 
Sunday 16th October - 10.30 am - Bakewell to Ashford in the the Water follwing the Tissington/Monsal trail.  About 6 miles.  3 hours.  Meet at the old Station, Station road Car park. Bakewell.
 
Sunday 20th November - 10.30am - Holmesfield to Totley Brook and Fanshaw manor.  Meet at the Church car park, behind the Angel Inn, Holmesfield.  About 5 miles.
 
Sunday 11 18th December - 10.30am - Chatsworth to include festive cheer and mince pies in the courtyard.  Meet at Baslow car park. About 6 miles, or 3 hours.
